OKTOBERFEST 2024

Our Oktoberfest was held on Oktober 26, 2024, at the Janaloka Ballroom of the luxurious 5-star Whiz Luxe Hotel in Surabaya. We welcomed approximately 250 guests who joined us for a lively celebration that lasted until 12:30 AM. While we did not reach our target attendance, we still consider the event a significant success and an important cultural asset for Surabaya.

The Oktoberfest was opened with remarks from Mr. Mike Neuber, Director of Wisma Jerman, Mr. Christopher Tjokrosetio, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany, followed by remarks Mr. Dodi Wijayanto, General Manager of Whiz Luxe Hotel Surabaya.

Guests enjoyed a delectable array of German cuisine crafted by Chef Randy Unggul from the Whiz Luxe Hotel. Our Bavarian Oktoberfest band, ‘Happy Hour,’ along with DJ Dellen, kept everyone dancing the night away, accompanied by the refreshing tastes of Kaltenberg and König Ludwig beer and the youngest visitors were invited to explore a kids corner.

Other highlights of the agenda included and entertaining quizzes about German and Octoberfest and competitions such as beer drinking competition and mug holding competition conducted by the Wisma Jerman team. Participants in these activities could win Wisma Jerman goodie bags as well as exciting prizes provided by some of the supporters of the event such as the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Porsche Centre Surabaya, Jamu Iboe, and Wismilak.

Overall, we hosted one of the most enjoyable events for the expat and local community in Surabaya while providing ample networking opportunities and a diverse entertainment program for people of all backgrounds and ages.

The continued support of all parties involved and the promotional efforts of KLIK FM, Harian Disway, Superradio, She Radio, JavasTV, Ngopibareng, Suara Jatim Post, Jawa Pos and iBenews which covered the event exclusively, contributed to the event’s success. The feedback from guests was very positive and many expressed their excitement for the next Oktoberfest.
