SENANDUNG ALAM CONCERT

On the occasion of the Indonesian National Childrens’ Day, which is celebrated annually on 23rd of Juli, Wisma Jerman proudly collaborated with Aksi Cinta Indonesia (ACI), Climate Fresk and Komunitas Narasi Jawa Timur for a charity concert with the aim to plant at least 1.000 mangrove trees in the Mangrove Forest, Wonorejo, Surabaya. National Childrens’ Day is an annual reminder about the importance of children and their well-being to grow up to be valuable members of society.

Senandung Alam concert took place on the 28th of Juli 2024 at Ciputra Hall Surabaya. More than 500 attendees came to enjoy this memorable event. The concert featured Indonesian hits from various eras, from Vina Panduwinata, Chrisye, to Maudy Ayunda. All the songs performed are songs whose lyrics are “child-friendly” and have a positive meaning, delivered in a modern way and supported by a professional band. Through this concert, we invited the people of Surabaya to increase their awareness for the environment, both nature and society, and especially for the development of the younger generation.

The concert was opened by Mr. Mike Neuber, Director of Wisma Jerman and Mr. Tomi Ardianto on behalf of the Surabaya City Government which supported the event. After their welcome words, the audience was treated to a splendid performance by Aksi Cinta Indonesia’s vocal team which consisted of Abi, Dana, Eben, Ehrgi, Gicha, Kimora, Mia, Nabila, Olivia, Virlee and Zoey. The program of the concert was divided into two sessions. The first part among others featured story telling by Kayla and a medley of the songs “Aku Anak Indonesia”, “Selamat Pagi” and “Menikmati Hari” (all performed by the Aksi Cinta Indonesia vocal team). This was followed by various solo and team performances including a medley of “Ulang Tahunku, Cinta Untuk Mama, Bunda Piara” (Cicha, Eben, Kimora, Virlee), and renditions of the popular songs “Andaikan Aku Punya Sayap” (Nabila), “Andai Aku Besar Nanti” (Zoey), “Aku Beranjak Dewasa” (Mita), and “Happy” (Abi, Ehrgi, Nabila, Mita, Olivia, Zoey).

After the first set, the concert was continued by a traditional dance performance titled “Tari Kreasi Ampar – Ampar Pisang” by the Little Elyoners from Elyon Christian School Surabaya. For the second part, the concert continued with a piano and vocal performance by Olivia and Kimora with the songs “Burung Camar” , “Permata Khatulistiwa”, “Payung Fantasi” (duo Nabila & Olivia – vocals), “Lilin – Lilin Kecil” (Mita, Nabila, Olivia, Zoey-vocals), “Ambilkan Bulan Bu” (Abi, Ehrgi, Mita, Nabila, Olivia, Zoey-vocals). The concert ended with “Kejar Mimpi” and “Bersyukur” performed by the entire Aksi Cinta Indonesia team. The stage background featured artworks by Team Komik ACI during the entire duration of the concert.
