OKTOBERFEST 2025

Our Oktoberfest was held on October 3rd, 2025, which this year coincided with the Tag der Deutschen Einheit (Day of German Unity) — a fitting occasion to celebrate the spirit of togetherness and friendship. The event took place in the Tunjungan Grand Ballroom of the luxurious 5-star DoubleTree by Hilton in Surabaya, where more than 220 guests gathered and celebration lasted until 12:30 AM.

The Oktoberfest opened with welcoming remarks from Mr. Mike Neuber, Director of Wisma Jerman, Mr. Christopher Tjokrosetio, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Mr. Shane Ingram, General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya.

Guests were treated to a tasty variety of German specialties prepared by Muhammad Juwanto from the DoubleTree by Hilton. Our German Oktoberfest band, ‘Night Lilies,’ along with DJ Gatra, invited everyone to immerse themselves in the joy of this beautiful moment. The experience was complemented by the refreshing taste of Prost and König Ludwig beer, that was provided throughout the whole event. Meanwhile the youngest visitors enjoyed their own fun in the specially prepared kids’ corner.

Other highlights of the evening included entertaining quizzes about Germany and Oktoberfest traditions, as well as the popular beer-drinking and mug-holding competitions for our female and male guests which are a must at every Oktoberfest. Participants competed enthusiastically for a chance to win valuable vouchers, Wisma Jerman goodie bags, and other exciting prizes sponsored by Porsche Centre Surabaya, Jamu Iboe, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Garuda Indonesia, Ruts, and Wismilak.

This gathering was a valuable opportunity for all of us to network, meet old friends and make new ones, and it opened opportunities between communities from different backgrounds to connect with one another. The continued support of all parties involved, together with the promotional efforts of KLIK FM, Harian Disway, Superradio, She Radio, Suara Jatim Post, and iBenews, who exclusively covered the event, contributed greatly to its success. The event was not only a vibrant celebration of tradition and culture but also a remarkable showcase of hospitality, intercultural exchange, and community spirit.
