Kings of Classic Charity Concert

On Sunday, the 22^nd of December 2019 Wisma Jerman invited friends of classical music to an evening with two young artists from Germany at the Hotel Majapahit Surabaya. The duo, consisting of Maximilian Schairer (piano) and Philipp Jonas (violin), was brought to Surabaya by Pak Jongky Goei, himself a piano player and event promoter from Indonesia who lives in Germany. More than 150 people followed the invitation and witnessed a delightful performance by two exceptional young talents who together go by the name Kings of Classic.

During the concert they played three sonatas and one overture: Beethoven Sonata op. 12/1, Debussy Sonata L14018.48-19.03, Grieg Sonata Nr. 3 op.45 and as a special a Michael Brandon Chen Christmas Overture which was especially written by Michael Brandon Chen for the duo and their tour in Indonesia.

For the young musicians, who have won several international accolades and have played tours in several countries already, it was the first time visiting Indonesia. After having played in Jakarta they stopped by in Surabaya for an unforgettable performance before moving on to Malang and Bali where they ended their short tour through Indonesia.
